Project Work

Exploring and sharing developments in wool is key to unlocking its full value and opening up new applications and possibilities.

Our focus is on exploring new uses and developments beyond the single industry wool is traditionally associated with — fashion.

Wool has genuine multi-sector application capabilities, yet the focus remains overwhelmingly on textiles and fashion.  Not all wool is suited to clothing: some is too coarse, staple length is too short, weak staple that the fiber breaks, shearing quality, overall health of the wool (poor ground, soil and food = poor wool quality) or simply, it is not suitable.

At Het Woolly Collectief, our philosophy is simple: use the right wool for the right job. That means understanding the fleece, the breed, assessing the quality of the wool, staple and strength, colouring, and considering the shearing process, whilst matching all of this to the end application.

Here you will find examples of work undertaken for clients, including new material development and research and development (R&D).
