About Het Woolly Collectief
Wool Materials Lab with Application
A wool materials practice focused on applied development, cross-sector innovation and real-world material outcomes. From fibre to system — exploring how wool contributes to more resilient material and land cycles.
We work across research, development and prototyping to explore how wool can be used beyond traditional textile applications.
Our focus includes:
-
Building and construction materials
-
Agricultural and land-based systems ie plants at home to Gemente parks and management of water
-
Interior and sensory environments
-
Automotive and technical applications
-
Packaging and circular material systems
We develop material systems that are tested, adapted and explored for real-world use.

Machinery
A Wool Lab is not not a lab without machinery. Our machinery enables exploration, creativity and education for curious and creative individuals looking to explore the possibilities of wool.
Our space houses several machine based areas, teaching spaces, and even a shop. The atelier is intended to support the development and teaching of new processing and product development techniques for the application of wool.
We regularly develop opportunities for people to come and learn about wool and its wider use.
Farmers, students, designers, teachers, craftspeople, and consumers are welcome!
Whilst some of the machinery is not typically available here in Belgium, the goal is to provide an opportunity for these machines to be available for everyone to explore, create, learn and produce. You are welcome!!
You can access the atelier's machinery and facilities by booking online. If you have a question, please do get in contact.
