This spindle, drop spindle or spintol, as it is known in Dutch is ideal for beginners and also experienced spinners.

It is available in two sizes: 18 mm and 25 mm.  At Het Woolly Collectief we use these spindles in our workshops and like to use use the 18 mm. 
 
With the majority of the weight placed on the outer edge of the disc, the spindle spins more steadily and stays in motion longer.  The DIY Kit arrives in a letterbox sized package with all the materials to assemble the spindle as a ‘top whorl’ or a ‘bottom whorl’.

Simply use a pencil sharpener to create a pointed tip. What’s included:
